Mega Man 6

Mega Man 6 is a 2D run and gun platformer developed by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System. As this is the sixth and final installment in the NES line of the series, I will be assuming you are up to date on my previous five reviews or familiar with the series in general as far as the basics go. It just saves time. The plot here is that the first annual robot fighting tournament is being held, with eight of the world’s most powerful robots ready to compete. Suddenly, the sponsor known as Mr. X hijacks the competitors and reprograms them to help him dominate the world. It’s up to Mega Man to take them down and stop this mysterious madman from his cartoonishly evil plan. Continue reading “Mega Man 6”

Mega Man 5

Mega Man 5 is a 2D run and gun platformer developed by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System. As this is the fifth installment in the Mega Man franchise I will be assuming you’re either familiar with the previous titles or have been keeping up with my reviews so I can avoid repeating myself too much. The story of this one seems to be following up more on the reveal from the third game, oddly enough. A group of robots has started causing trouble in the world. What a surprise. The twist is that this time Proto Man is behind it. It’s up to Mega Man to defeat the eight master robots and confront his long lost brother leading the charge. Continue reading “Mega Man 5”

Mega Man 4

Mega Man 4 is a 2D run and gun platformer developed by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System. This is the fourth installment in the series so if you’re not up to speed then be sure to check out the previous reviews. The game starts with an opening cinematic recapping the events of the previous three games. This time the plot is quite simple. Mega Man seeks to keep the peace, but a new villain, Dr. Cossack, decides to build his own robots to take out Mega Man. It’s up to you to fight for your life and stop them. Continue reading “Mega Man 4”

Mega Man 3

Mega Man 3 is a 2D run and gun platformer for the Nintendo Entertainment System developed by Capcom. This is the third installment to the series so I’ll assume you’ve been keeping up with my previous reviews or know something about Mega Man in general to start with, though a lot of it is relatively similar. The story is strangely absent from the game’s opening, but doing some research you’ll find that basically Dr. Wily has turned over a new leaf and begun working with Dr. Light in order to create a robot to keep the peace. In order to do so, they need to collect elements that are guarded by robot masters. It’s up to Mega Man to collect them for the good of the mission. Let’s just hope this is the end of Wily’s trickery… hmm… nah, it’ll probably be fine. What could possibly go wrong? Continue reading “Mega Man 3”
