Animal Crossing New Leaf Welcome Amiibo

Animal Crossing New Leaf Welcome Amiibo is a life simulation role-playing game for the Nintendo 3DS. Some things to note with this particular review is that, while this is not the first game in the series, this is the first Animal Crossing game I’ve played. This may skew my perspectives one way or another compared to veterans of the series. Also, since there’s no real definite ending to the game, I just played it for a few months trying to do as much as I could. And also, in case you’re confused, Animal Crossing New Leaf came out, then got the Welcome Amiibo update for free BUT the later purchases may refer to it simply as Animal Crossing Welcome Amiibo… it’s all the same game, but I have no knowledge of what it was like prior to this free update, so that’s the last bit to keep in mind. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is a story-driven role-playing game set in the Star Wars universe. It originally released for Xbox and PC, but the version I played for this review was the one available on Steam. Keep this in mind during the review. Also keep in mind that I did not play this game back when it came out, nor do I have a vast knowledge of the now-abandoned extended universe. The only other bit of information that I think is worthy to note is that I did use the program JoyToKey in order to program a simple set of gamepad controls to make my experience more enjoyable as I’m much more of a console gamer. I think that should get us all up to speed. Now, let’s dig in. Continue reading “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic”

Fairune

Fairune is a 2D puzzle adventure game with some RPG elements available on the Nintendo 3DS eshop. There’s hardly much of a story and it will give you the brief overview of it right when you start. Basically, there’s some evil creature that you need to destroy. So you need to find three magical icons to unlock the creature’s lair an take it out. Pretty simple, and the game itself kind of just hints at the story being meaningless too, so it’s not just me. Continue reading “Fairune”

Fantasy Life

Fantasy Life is an action role-playing game for the Nintendo 3DS. This is game that takes a somewhat different approach to an otherwise standard RPG along with free flowing combat. I’d rather not spoil the story for you because it’s a large part of the game, as is the case with most RPGs, but I’ll try and give you what I remember of the starting plot from when I started it up all those hours ago.
