Gamer V Portable

This review is going to be a little different than the ones I usually do. Instead of reviewing a game for a system, I’ll be reviewing all of the built-in games on the Gamer V Portable handheld system. It’s just a standalone handheld device released by dreamGEAR. If you’d like to hear more about the system in general you can check out the video below. However, to keep that video shorter I decided to talk about the system itself rather than all of the games specifically. Why? Because there are 220 built-in games on this bad boy, which would make for an overly-long video. Instead, I’ll be going through each game in order of appearance and reviewing them one by one as I go. Maybe bookmark this article to read in chunks if you’d like. Or just check that video to hear some of the highlights. I can only warn you that I may be referencing previous games in the list if some seem to be variations of the others. If you still think you’re up for it, let’s dig into this crazy collection of games. Continue reading “Gamer V Portable”

Animal Crossing New Leaf Welcome Amiibo

Animal Crossing New Leaf Welcome Amiibo is a life simulation role-playing game for the Nintendo 3DS. Some things to note with this particular review is that, while this is not the first game in the series, this is the first Animal Crossing game I’ve played. This may skew my perspectives one way or another compared to veterans of the series. Also, since there’s no real definite ending to the game, I just played it for a few months trying to do as much as I could. And also, in case you’re confused, Animal Crossing New Leaf came out, then got the Welcome Amiibo update for free BUT the later purchases may refer to it simply as Animal Crossing Welcome Amiibo… it’s all the same game, but I have no knowledge of what it was like prior to this free update, so that’s the last bit to keep in mind. New Super Mario Bros.

New Super Mario Bros. is a side-scrolling platformer for the Nintendo DS. The Super Mario Bros. series hadn’t seen much in the way of truly new games in quite some time, with their last major installment being Super Mario World on the SNES and not in name since Super Mario Bros. 3 for the NES. So it was high time the brothers jumped back in action. Thus, New Super Mario Bros. was made. It may seem a bit tired now, but let’s take a look back at the one that started this retro revival of mustachioed masters. Continue reading “New Super Mario Bros.”

Thoughts on Super Mario Maker Coming to Nintendo 3DS

Super Mario Maker has been quite popular on the Wii U. In fact, it’s the very thing that made me NEED to get a Wii U sooner rather than later. I’ve since acquired the system and the game. Needless to say I’m beyond pleased, but I’ll save all my gushing for the upcoming review. Not too long ago (though perhaps a bit to long at this point to be all that newsworthy), Nintendo announced in their Nintendo Direct that Super Mario Maker would be coming to the Nintendo 3DS. This gave me mixed feelings. Continue reading “Thoughts on Super Mario Maker Coming to Nintendo 3DS”

Fantasy Life

Fantasy Life is an action role-playing game for the Nintendo 3DS. This is game that takes a somewhat different approach to an otherwise standard RPG along with free flowing combat. I’d rather not spoil the story for you because it’s a large part of the game, as is the case with most RPGs, but I’ll try and give you what I remember of the starting plot from when I started it up all those hours ago.
